[QUEST] Blind Partnership/Capture the Deca-Kopan!

Aug 23, 2009 21:58

Party: Asch, Arche, Ion, and anyone who might be a part of the mystery team. (One or two spots left)
Location: Blessenwood Lake (someplace within the forest)
Goal: A villager has an obsession with certain monsters, namely a deca-kopan, an enormous mutation of the lesser pan. Members are to seek out the beast and use any and all means (excluding death, of course!) to subdue it and bring it back to the client.
Affection: NA
Status: CLOSED

[Asch had elected to go on a solo mission. In other words, he had not asked for anyone's assistance and instead, had ventured inside and signed up for an open quest, expecting that, in signing up alone, he would have no teammates. No such luck. Apparently someone (Asch suspected the client) objected, claiming that at least one other person would need to participate in order to accomplish this quest. Thus, just before he left to find the massive beast, he was informed that more of Ad Libitum's members would be assigned to this quest. Great. Just what he did not want. Frustrated, he left on his own, leaving a hasty note with the quest that informed his teammates that he had gone on ahead. They were lucky he even bothered with that.]

[His hastiness led him to the scene of the last reported sighting of the elusive deca-kopan, a local lake nestled in a small clearing amongst a sea of trees. The former God-General strode over to the edge of the lake, peering over the water. He could see the very bottom of it, where some small fish lounged about. Blinking, he looked up at his surroundings. Not even the wind rustled the trees. If that giant pink monstrosity was as large as the client claimed, it certainly would have made some noise or knocked over some trees. The silence, while appreciated, unnerved the redhead as he looked for clues leading to the target. So far, nothing. Not that it mattered: His patience ran thin--thin enough that he could move out at any moment.]

[Looking down at his tabard, Asch noticed just how flawlessly Paneer had mended his uniform. Quite honestly, between the blood and the tears, he had wondered if the Daathic getup would be salvaged. He could sew, but his abilities had limits, which that small little being had surpassed without much effort. Taking lessons from her might not have been a bad idea, had he not been disinterested in anything but the basics. He was not a seamstress--he only wanted to know the basics for the sake of being self-sufficient, unlike a certain someone he had the misfortune of knowing.]

[While admiring the Natsu-Natsu's work, Asch heard a sudden movement among some of the trees on the other side of the lake. His head snapped up, eyes focused ahead on the jostled plants. Taking a slow, silent step to the side, he kept his gaze on the other end of the forest. He would have walk around the lake to draw any closer. So he did. For someone as bold as the redhead, he remained quiet in his approach, still looking and listening for any defining signs of the creature's species. Once he reached the other side, he heard some bushes rustle again, and out came something pink. Unfortunately, its grunting and squealing, along with its portly quadrupedal posture did not fit with the description of any pan type. In other words, he would have to search a little harder.]

(A pig? Out here? This is quickly becoming a waste of time.)

[So he waited for his mysterious company, arms crossed and frowning all the while. He wondered which would show up: His team or his target?]

[At least the client hadn't asked him to deal with a liger.]
