Repede did appear once before the real events in Tales of Vesperia. In TOV: The First Strike, he is probably one year old puppy who acts as the mascot for the Nylen Corps, and is always carrying something in his mouth such as bone or small branch, which he ends up carrying a pipe when he grown up. He also has a father, Lambert as the official war dog of the Nylen Corps.

Personality: If a dog could be thought of as the silent, lone warrior, Repede would fit the descriptions. He’s pretty cool headed dog and he is also very devoted to the group and his loved ones, especially for Yuri and Flynn. It seems he likes to play with Flynn a lot more than he does with Yuri, but he seems to be attached and loyal to Yuri more than Flynn. Repede can understand the human language, but sometimes people can't understand what he thinks. Only Yuri has the ability to understand Repede throughout later in the game

Roleplay Sample: A blue canine had been sniffing for like hours, searching his lost partner after the Adephagos broke down. The scents changed, as he sniffed the ground that seemed to be a smell of wood. The dog twitched its ear, moving the pipe up. It was a tree root, huge tree root. He wondered how he got here by himself. Usually, a girl named Estellise should be along with him by now. But it seemed, she’s nowhere in sight.
He continued his search, ignoring the World Tree in front of him. This dog isn’t same as normal human, amuse weird things when comes around them. He has no such interest like human does. Soon, the scents of living people just few feet away from him. He began to visit the new location as he was hoping the partner of him was there.
