When my father was around seven or eight years old, sometime in 1928 or 1929, his father found himself doing well enough in his profession (as a certified public accountant and investment advisor) that he could afford some luxuries for himself and his family. I'm glad that worked out. Once upon a time when I was
trying unsuccessfully to afford a much larger house, part
of my motivation was the front room that was obviously
meant to be a music room. Every time I looked into that
vacant room, I 'saw' a piano there. Even now, when I

I am fantastically jealous. :) Those are beautiful instruments. It must've cost you a fortune to have it moved though! My parents always had the idea that I would take my childhood piano (a Baldwin console, not fancy but they bought it new) when I moved out; I don't think that they anticipated that I'd move halfway across the country though. So I had to say "Heck no, I can't take that with me. Maybe when I get a house." Well, I still live in an apartment and they donated it to their church. If I go to church with them I visit it. The F in the second octave above middle C still sticks like a piece of crap :)
