I've been accused of being too idealistic as well, but I think its clear that what we've been doing for the past 10,000 years or so just isn't working. Besides, ever since I started to actually SEE some of the extra layers of reality, certain things like the Unity of Life and the true nature of Consciousness seem more like irrefutable facts than misguided idealism. Certain things truly are inevitable, and a lot of "idealistic" people have known this for a long time. Its just taking humanity a while to logically prove the fallacy of our ways. Hopefully it won't take a nuclear war to prove it to us, but to be honest, I don't think that's something we can escape at this point. I can only hope that when the shit hits the fan, the survivors rebuild the right way. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I'm fairly confident that it will happen in my lifetime. Which is another reason I don't consider idealism to be the wrong path; we have to start spreading certain ideas now, so people will have them when they finally have no other options.
