So, my aforementioned much-anticipated meeting with my uncle and auntie actually went really well. I was a total bundle of nerves for most of the day before, because I anticipated most of the conversation to be about my life - which is pretty natural, they hadn't seen or practically heard from me in seven years, but since right now my life is up

Ah, extended family and mental illness. Will be dealing with that tomorrow at the Memorial Day party. I don't have any scars (took great pains to hide my self-harm), but I also have no shame. I've never properly talked about my depression in front of my extended family because the psychobitch has always been present, but with my near-hospitalization this past semester I fear it might come up.

Glad your meeting with your auntie and uncle went well, though! :)
