Oh, but don't you know that the ideas behind slavery are seemingly innocent? I guess they seem so if you have no thinking brain. A mind is a terrible thing never to have had.
I'm hoping this will make some of his advertisers yank backing, though doubtless not enough. :/
Because as long as the courts aren't shoving their dirty paws into it, tearing human beings away from their families and homeland, selling them, abusing them and forcing them to work back-breaking jobs in a country far away and where many of the people they'll see don't share their language is PERFECTLY INNOCENT. What.
What... what the hell. This isn't worth the rereads it takes to understand what he's talking about. What the hell.
I want to know: What "innocent ideas"? What court decisions, besides ones that held up the already-established tradition of slavery? I'm not sure he's arguing that slavery was ever an innocent concept, but there's no fucking way it started with American legislation. There were slaves before America was the US. There were slaves in Biblical times, Ancient Mesopotamia... selling your conquered enemies was not unheard of in Europe, Asia, or Africa. As I understand it, anyway - correct me if I'm wrong.
I could see someone arguing that intellectual property rights laws or employment agreements are a few steps away from slavery, and it making a depressing amount bit of sense. But this? Gah.
And puh-lease. The right-wingers want less government control, but only for themselves. They'll gleefully control everyone else's lives. Fuck them all. Fuck this guy in his nonsensical brainpan >C
