Monday night I got steak.

I fell asleep while writing up my reflection on Library Camp QLD from 2012, so I haven't finished it yet. Will probably get it done before I go to sleep.

My Day.

God I'm sleepy today. Don't know why. I got a crazy amount of sleep last night. I woke up at about 11am and didn't get up to much until I heard my mum screaming for me from the other side of the house. Apparently her printer is out of toner. I asked why she didn't replace it when the computer said it was running low and she said it had been saying that for weeks now and she just ignored it. But now it was my job to get her documents printed out. Because of course it was my job.

The first thing I noticed on her computer was the fact that she'd somehow installed a toolbar on her browser, which I spent about three minutes deleting because I hate those things with a passion. Then I found out she didn't have the website up that had the document she wanted to print and didn't know how to search the history(I'm not going to say that learning today that she doesn't understand browser history makes a lot of the efforts I went to back in the day to hide my browser history seem... wasted) and then I tried a few things to trick her printer into working, but it was finally dead. So we went over to the other printer, but her computer didn't have the right drivers to work on that one so I had to boot up the older computer, copy the exact URL for the document and print that document. All while my mother complained that I wasn't doing it fast enough and/or I was doing it wrong until it printed off and I could go back to my room to finish watching the latest episode of Continuum.

For people who are watching Continuum, did not see that ending coming. This show is that perfect sweet spot of humour, sci-fi and action. My only issue is that Keira and Alecs girlfriend seem to have some understanding to start over again, I don't really remember them ever being antagonistic to one another prior to this. Maybe I missed it somehow but I really have no idea where the idea that they didn't like each other came from.

After I finished watching that I went out to the front yard and took my old computer table to pieces, which took about ten minutes. I missed the chance to throw the parts out with the rubbish today but Matt's rubbish doesn't get collected until Wednesday so I should be able to do it then.
I still haven't put the shelving on top of my current computer desk, I need to go down to a hardware store and get the little wooden plugs that should, in theory, join them up and then it'll be sorted.

Around 3:30pm I started feeling a bit bored so I got on my bike and did a quick circuit of the neighbourhood getting back at around 4pm in time to catch Matts carer Kerry dropping him off home. I didn't have to have him back to his place until 430 so I was trying to think of something to kill the time when I got a text from Patrick his other worker for tonight saying he couldn't make it so I'd have to work by myself. Which is annoying but I can live with it pretty easily.
This also made my choice of afternoon activity easier to pick because I didn't have a time to leave anymore. So we went dogwalking around the neighbourhood with our three dogs, all three of which seemed hormonal and more insane than usual.

I am so sleepy I put my head down at this point to sleep for 20 minutes. Which was a first for me. Pretty much all month I've been able to sit and write these things out without stopping. Sure it takes about two hours on average each day to spew out the words but I've never been so tired that I had to go to sleep before now.

I took the dogs and Matt around the neighbourhood for about fifty minutes which was nice, shook the dust off a little bit. I found I had $10 in my pocket, which unfortunately is gone now because of some combination of the wind and my habit of putting my hand in an out of my jumper pockets all the time.
After we got home I did a quick check on my blog statistics for the month, so far I've written just shy of 50,000 words with an approximate count of 49,009 words done. Which is just crazy for me right now. I think in previous years I've barely topped out at about 60,000 or so, it looks likely that I'll crack 100,000 before the month is over. This really is encouraging for my planned run at NaNoWriMo in November.

After that I transferred over the files I had on my computer that I haven't watched yet to my laptop so that I could watch them later tonight and Matt and I headed to his house to get his pills and then on to the pub to get some steak for dinner. I had the chilli steak tonight, which was spicy as always. Matt had his usual Mushroom steak. He likes it so I don't dare change his option every week like I do with my own.

Once dinner was over we went shopping to Woolies at Darra and got the food for the week and then finally drove home to get Matt into a bath and me into this blog entry. I mentioned to the checkout girl that Matt, aside from being disabled, was also very very rude. She seemed shocked that I would talk about him like, that. I occasionally forget that not everyone gets my sense of humour, she seemed genuinely worried that either I was telling the truth and Matt is some kind of horrible person or I was lying and was myself a horrible person. It helps to know your audience.

I've found that by writing up my ePortfolio requirements as daily entries on this blog that I've kind of set myself up for success for once. I've obsessed with not missing a day and I need to get this all done within the next ten days. So I'm really liking this method for motivating myself.

I managed to watch some Torchwood before I started writing this but left before it ended to go and get myself some Subway, but the Subway around the corner from my brothers house has suddenly started shutting at 9pm not 9:30pm like it used to. Buggers.I'm probably going to pass out soon so I'll sign off now. I might try to watch the second half of Much Ado About Nothing later. I'm hoping to see if I can see the Joss Whedon version some time in the future.

YouTube Clip of the day.

I don't personally care for Game of Thrones, but the people who only watch the show and ignore the books are probably missing out on some good stuff. I could swear I wrote something once for LiveJournal about why books are better than movies in most cases. Can't seem to find it. Oh well.
A lot of swear words in this video. So... warning.
