It's amazing how a cat can set itself on fire and not even notice.

Fortunately, it didn't reach the skin, but still... the smell of burnt fur is lingering.

ack! What happened?

One of our cats has an injured patch down his nose and we're still trying to figure out if it's frostbite or he bumped his nose on the muffler pipe when walking under the van--happily superficial even though it looked AWFUL for the first few days. Frostbite is plausible, but I was super-careful on those bad days to attend door scritches promptly and if it was bad enough to do the bridge of his nose, I think we would have seen problems with his paws as well, and there aren't any.

As I was boiling water, Caligo jumped up onto the counter while I was poking around in a cabinet. She pressed her tail against the burner.
