The Death of a Relationship

My parent's relationship is on the rocks. With the divorce rate at 50% of marriages today - I had previously thought that it was a possibility that they would split up. However, the reality of the situation has really shocked me. I'm not really sure what to do or what to say.

Are they seeing a proper relationship counselor? I'm not sure if they're set on separating yet or not, but even if they are it'll help ease the transition, and there's always the possibility that it could help them work things out.

My mom will soon be seeing a counselor, but my dad is pretty stubborn about it all. He thinks that he knows all the relationship problems and thus doesn't need any help.

And I do think that they should see a counselor instead of talking to you about it :(
