Eighth Doctor Adventures for download

I've uploaded all of the EDAs in PDF versions to this folder on mediafire. They all should be in order. For Fitz fans, his first appearance is in book nineteen The Taint and (excepting The Burning through Father Time) he's in every other book after that. You can find a more detailed list with who's in each book on Wikipedia and you can find ( Read more... )

THe Taking of Planet Five is great, but depends too much on outside continuity to be really good for a newbie, alas

I've always loved 'Deadstone Memorial', 'Seeing I', ‘The Crooked World’ and 'Vampire Science'.

'Vampire Science' and ‘The Crooked World’ are probably the only two that you can pick up immediately, though.

I think a newbie could read The Deadstone Memorial without much trouble. There are a few references thrown in that someone who hadn't read previous novels wouldn't get, but the story itself holds up very well without having read anything else. I love that one too. There are some wonderful Fitz moments in it. It's one of two EDAs I've read to my grandma, who's never seen Doctor Who, and she really enjoyed it (once I explained how they can all live in a Police Box time machine). If you were wondering, the other one I read to her was The Turing Test...which didn't go over nearly as well.

Oh god my favorites... The Blue Angel obviously, because I love metafictional mindscrewy things. EarthWorld is so fabulous for the entire cast. I really love the worldbuilding of Unnatural History. And anything Stephen Cole writes is good for a fast, fun read.

But to start on? I dunno. UH might be a good place to start unless you care about Sam, I guess...

Fantastic! Thank you, I will be grabbing the ones I don't have as bandwidth allows.

I've picked up a few as I've found them over the past few years in secondhand shops but they are difficult to find especially here in NZ as many were never released here originally.

Apparently BBC are re releasing a few - I spotted them on book depository a couple of weeks back so will be ordering them as I'm able.

I really need a Fitz/8th Doctor icon.

I hadn't heard any news about the BBC re-releasing any of these. Is there official news about that someplace?

I read about it on a Dr Who comm on goodreads.com. Also on bookdepository.co.uk there are several titles listed as available on pre-order which seems to confirm it.

I've grabbed the gaps in my collection. Thank you :)

I did have an issue with one file that wouldn't download for me though. The Crooked World.

It got as far as download starting but the box with the save to dialogue in never happened so I couldn't get it. I tried it several times but no luck. The rest were fine.

Hrm. I tried downloading that one and it works for me. I've uploaded it to a different site, maybe this will work.

If that doesn't work, maybe a different format will work.

That worked fine. Thank you so much :)

I did wonder if that other was because I am on dialup but the others worked fine. One of those weird things.
