Chicken or the Gays: Make a Choice About Eating Chick-fil-A:If you'd really like to support gays and lesbians in a world lousy with Chick-fil-As, how about this tactic instead: From now on, don't fucking eat at Chick-fil-A if you are a person who believes gays are equal to you and deserving of equal treatment under the law. I don't think I've ever actually eaten at Chick-fil-A. This is made easier by not being within 40 miles of one, but honestly I can't imagine why one would choose it over any other fast food place...

Neither could I. For a while when I worked next to Fair Oaks mall, the *only* thing going for it for me was that they had unsweet ice tea (the taco bell and burger king didn't). When Subway finally offered that (and Popeyes always had it), well, so much for CfA. CfA's lines were also often obnoxiously long, making me wonder if their service just sucked, too, 'cause like you I couldn't see the appeal.

Their breakfast wasn't bad, but I hardly have time for it.

Ive never had Chick-Fil-A, but I knew about their religious beliefs YEARS ago, and avoided the place ever since as a matter of principle.

I had it once, oh, a dozen or so years ago. I think it tasted good. But clearly, I don't really care, since it wasn't until years later that I learned about their "principles."

I'm participating in hundreds of boycotts I'm barely aware of; it doesn't really count unless I'm actually making a decision to abstain. But I'm not about to break this one anytime soon.

I've actually never eaten there. Purposely.

personally, i love chick-fil-a. i love their nuggets. i love love love their cole slaw. they have good lemonade and i like their salads.

i freely admit i miss it.

but i felt guilty when i eat there so i finally stopped eating there. like the article says, there are other places with good chicken and lemonade and salads. ... unfortunately not cole slaw. damn.

plus, Trinket ate there last season during rehearsal and got food poisoning literally ON SITE about half an hour after eating. she had to go home. she said (half tongue-in-cheek) it was because she knew better than to go against her principles and would never eat there again. i haven't eaten there since shortly before that either. *g*

I didn't even think it was an issue or something that required debating: The moment I found they have Dominionist ties, it was as if they ceased existing. Technically, not a big sacrifice since I didn't especially like anything they offer anyway, but still, I can't see giving them money.
