Marita's funeral was a beautiful and emotional celebration of her life. The Heysen Chapel was overflowing with friends and family, and with love. Sam was there via live streaming. Many of you were also there in spirit, we felt you

Our love, as always from Brisbane. We wish we could have been there. We were there with you in spirit.
At the time of the funeral, Caitlin, Ellen and I lit a candle from our wedding day, looked at pictures of Marita, cried, sent thoughts and prayers, and remembered happy times with Marita and Chris. I sat outside with her lit candle in Loughlin's remembrance garden (a work in progress). We thought of everyone else in distant places who might also be reflecting in their own way, sharing their spirit with you all.
Our love and support to everyone - we are thinking of you.
Rest in peace and bliss - love continues to surround you, Marita.

It sounds as though it was an inspiring occasion and a fitting memorial for Marita, bringing together many of her interests. We shall remember the many ways in which she affected our lives. We'd like to wish the rest of the family well in the future, as you resume your lives. Love, Jean and Brian
Thank you for this brief description of what sounds like a wonderful if tragic event. Both Sheila and I would have loved to have been there; we went to sleep last night and woke this morning thinking of Marita and of you all. I don't remember the death of any other person that has affected us so deeply, which says something about Marita's effect on our lives, as on so many others. Our love to you all, in affectionate memory,
Chris and Sheila
PS I accidentally found the other day the shopping list (!) for the holiday we spent in 1975 on Boston Island, when Sam was a wee baby (we arrived on the saturday of the general election when Fraser ousted Whitlam). Chris fished much of the time and we had wonderful meals of fish, or some slightly dodgy lamb from the farmer's fridge. Somewhere in the margins of the list were the scores of a scrabble game we played; I'm pretty sure that Marita won!
It was a beautiful funeral. I am sorry for your loss, but, on Thursday, you did Marita proud. I believe it was very much what Marita would have wanted, full of music and art, and her hiking and book, with family highlighted. I think she would have been humbled that so many people from such a range of ages and walks of life chose to attend and honor her. Marita touched so many lives. Cathy.

Taking time to reflect, and give thanks for the many unique and special times in our lives that Marita touched, shaped, made.
Taking time to quietly say goodbye.
At Langshan I remembered things Marita wishes us all do.
Now I have more power to continue the good changes that are needed.
