What Do You Have To Say? - What A Character

Ford Prefect definitely changed my life.  Yeah, he gave me the inspiration not to travel the known Universe...er..something like that.  Yeah, I can't really remember, but he did inspire me to say things like, "My car sped down the freeway in almost entirely the exact way in which desk chairs do not."  Yeah, that's the word.

hpwriting2, literary character, what do you have to say?, writer's block

Strangely, Billy Pilgrim from Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five.

It was a line he said in the book that changed the way I look at death. I wish I could remember who he was discussing, and remember the exact quote, but it was something to the effect of:

"He's not dead. He's just in a bad moment."

I've been meaning to read Slaughterhouse Five. I guess I should just get off my ass and read it already. I've read a couple other Vonnegut books and just had trouble getting into them. But I have heard that SF is his best work.

It's a very...odd book.

I'm fine with odd. Odd and I seem to work together pretty well.
