OMG THOSE PICS! ASDFJKL;ASDFJKL;11!!1 He is so fucking hot!
Anyway, getting your wisdom teeth pulled isn't so bad. They should put you to sleep, though I was somewhat cognizant for most of it. I walked out of there quite easily and didn't experience much pain. I do remember having a craving for chips that first day...exactly the sort of food you aren't supposed to eat. Don't try it. I did and no matter how careful I was, I got chip crumbs in the holes in my mouth which wasn't that great.
I had all of my wisdom teeth removed when I was 15, when they were still in my gums. They should drug you up really well before they start working on it. I know for me, they put me under anesthesia, so I slept through the whole thing. Apparently, though, while the anesthesia was wearing off, I started sobbing and calling for my mom - no idea why! I've done that during another surgery, too, it's just my weird reaction.
I don't know how strong your pain threshold is, but it's really not too awful. Just don't even attempt to eat anything that requires chewing for the first two weeks. Seriously. Don't. That's the thing I remember hurting the most, tbhwy.
I started crying and asking for my mom when I had mine out, too! Except I was 20, so slightly more embarassing...
It was pretty much the same feeling I had when I was jet-lagged on a bus in Paris. I woke up disoriented, near tears, wanting to be home (in that case my hometown), and missing my boyfriend and best friend. After my surgery I woke up disoriented, near tears, wanting to be home (with my mom at my house, as I was already in my town), and missing the guy I was seeing and my best friend. I think it's a natural reaction to being really disoriented and not sure what's going on.
Ok, I know we're all gonna say "it will be ok, don't be scared!" and you're still gonna be scared. But I'm saying it anyway!!! I think the anxiety leading up to it is worse than the actual surgery. Believe me, I can't stand pain of any kind, and getting my wisdom teeth out really wasn't bad. You'll be drugged and they'll also give you more drugs to take once the original drugs wear off. Mmm, drugs. Also, stock pile soft foods! Ice cream and yugurt and applesauce are your friends.
