and i have very little idea of who the master is (i never got a chance to read up on him, but i know he's old school and the doctor's enemy) but whenever the old guy was all I'M THE MASTER i screamed OH MY GOD incredibly loud.
and it makes sense why Saxon is telling martha's mum about the Doctor being evil.

Yeah, so apparently Professor YANA is a Timelord who turned himself into a human when there was a huge time war between the Daleks and Timelords. That makes sense to me, although it's not a good testiment to his character if the "Master" took the cowardly route out of the war where everyone else died.
Have you seen the episode 303 - Gridlock? That's where the Face of Bo gave the Doctor his last words, "you're not alone". (I think Bo is supposed to be like this wise Oracle; he was in the old series too. We only saw him like twice in the new series, I think.)
