Yeah I kept seeing it on all the Top 10 books of 2006, so I picked it up and didn't put it down until it was done haha.

I just skimmed a Maslin review of it in the nytimes, it looks really amazing. I guess I will have to add it to the unending list of books I must read...

You can totally read it in a day, too.

I know how you feel though, I have about 20 books on my list.

CHICA, YOU DISAPPOINT ME.

BTWWWWWWWWWW, I was cleaning out my external hard drive today and I found the movie that video is from (Moving August). I thought I had lost it! If you want, I can send it to you. It'll have to be snail mail, though, cause it's too big for me to upload.

Oh, I just realized I read a review (that EW review, in fact) of that book just about a week ago and though it sounded incredible, so I'm glad to hear you loved it. Maybe if I make a big dent in my to-read pile in the next few months I'll check it out. :D And I've been wanting to read the Dark Tower series for a couple of years, too. Gah, there are too many books out there I want to read!

I had seen the review in the EW year-end issue, and then I read that review, and I also read Stephen King's review, and I was like oooooooh!

It's a really quick read, so it's one of those books you can read and get out of the way haha.

I never really cared about the Dark Tower series, but then my two best friends read them and now they won't shut up about them. It's peer pressure.

I love that video. I can't believe you hadn't seen it!

I knew three of those words! And 'shibboleth' is totes an awesome word, btw. That books sounds awesome.

Haha awesome!! I actually did know mendicant, but I wrote it anyway because I had a vague notion of what it was, but not really. And I figured rachitic had to do with rickets, but it had "rach" in it, so it was like it was calling out to me.

Shibboleth is definitely an English-professor-drop-to-sound-smart word hahaha. I had an old professor who taught 20th Centruy Fiction (who is also the one that used that word), and he wore corduroy blazers with elbow patches and a ridiculous Sherlock-Holmes-ish hat. His name was Dr. Vesterman, but due to his love of the sweater vest, he was Dr. Sweatervesterman to us LOL.
