I have always enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the variety of things you post about. The personal stuff always strikes me as amazingly well-written and self-aware, I am not sure I would be able to write all that if I were going though it.

I've been wondering lately how you've been holding up, with the latest horribleness at Virginia Tech and your involvement in the concealed carry debate, especially your editorial and the absurd comments in response to it.

I still don't understand the gall -- the lack of due diligence, to put it more objectively -- of a lot of people who comment on your blog, and I have a tremendous amount of admiration for you for your patience, not to mention your efforts to begin with. I think you have the right balance of temperament and passion for the public life you're starting to enter into.

I've thought for a while that you might benefit from some sort of personal/private separation in your blagosphere, and I think this is a wise move. Good luck with the new project, I look forward to reading it.

It's all about the friend-lock, dude. Pretty much nothing I post is public anymore except for "hey check out this link" sorts of things. I'm looking forward to your new blog but there's definitely no reason to abandon this one.
