The other day in the co-op it was observed that cooking is one of the rare skills with which it is acceptable to "show off."

I was thinking about doing pad thai for the co-op. I also thought of doing sticky rice, but we have no rice steamer. I could improvise one, but not with the requisite capacity.

Dammit, I need a chemical engineer.

you don't need a rice steamer.

I use 1 1/5 cups of dry sticky rice,

Bring 3cups of water to boil
Add rice, bring it back to boil and reduce to simmer (med-low), cover for 25minutes (don't open before 25minutes!).

so i guess you do the math if you wanna add more rice than that.

I love cooking pork tenderlion, it's easy to prepare and cook. is olive oil gluten free?

Olive oil is most definitely gluten-free. Gluten is a protein found in some grains, used to make a lot of things but not raw ingredients like olive oil.

I've done it with boiling before, but the texture's not very good compared to steamed. =/
