Blah blah writing endeavors blah.

So my Poly Big Bang is done, my Founders Gifts piece is done (must remember to email it though!), and one of my two Inception Big Bangs is done. The second is quite far along, and my current WIP has only one chapter to go.

So... obviously this means I should sign up for apocabigbang, right ( Read more... )

HIYA DARLING AND OH MY GOD HOW ARE YOU SO PRODUCTIVE, CAN I BORROW SOME OF YOUR FIC-WRITING PRODUCTIVENESS, I DON'T EVEN. I HAVEN'T STARTED MY TWO INCEPTION BIG BANGS AND FFFFFFFFFFFF.

See, if I don't finish them early I wind up trying to write 10k of the fic in the 3 days before deadline. Bitter experience has taught me that if I don't want to be TEARING MY HAIR OUT, I have to slam through the bang as soon as I've signed up.

What are your bangs going to be about?

Oh, ha. I always end up doing that, it's absolutely terrible. I think the main problem is, as soon as I write something fitting (eg. a fic I think would work for, say, my dream_exchange), I get all fidgety and impatient and post it instead of setting it aside for its proper purpose, because I always reason to myself that I can just write another one. Which is, obviously, a bad idea. :hides:

Hmm. The collaboration with arty_darc is a backstory piece, while the one I am tentatively attempting to do on my own is going to be a really morally dubious psychopath!Arthur fic. Yeah. Like, I don't even. HAVEN'T STARTED EITHER, I FEEL SORRY FOR arty_darc, THE POOR THING HAS TO PUT UP WITH MY SLACKNESS.

Yeah. It's one thing to procrastinate on a 1-2k fic with a deadline, quite another for a big bang.

My collab is the one I haven't finished yet, and it's gonna need a good amount of cleaning up, but eh, that's what editing time is for. Fortunately my co-writer and I seem to be on the same page, pace-wise.

Mmm, morally dubious. Sounds wonderful. ^__^

I go in fits and starts. Sometimes I write like crazy, and sometimes I get NOTHING DONE. Blah, the story I'm kindasorta starting right now is going nowhere if that's any comfort.

I wish I had the same problem!! Big bangs scare me! I always get afraid that I won't be able to finish a long fic, because I start stories then don't finish :( I stick on short one shots lol.

But I am super impressed by your ability to do that!

Hiiiiiiiiiii!!

It's weird, before I started doing big bangs I considered 5k to be, like, OMG SO LONG, and most of my stories came it around a thousand words or less. But now I am incapable of being concise, which is annoying in other ways- sometimes I just don't want to take weeks on a single fic, y'know?

yeahh, i totally get that. for me personally, sitting with a fic too long leads to me losing interest and then leads to an unfinished story. and then i'm just disappointed with myself lol, never fails.

it is pretty fun writing short stories. I've been having a blast writing oneshots for inception kink meme :D

Yeah, keeping myself interested can be tricky, I have a kind of short attention span.
