Inglourious Basterds - reaction post and mini-picspam

I have three words to say about Inglourious Basterds. It. Was. AWESOME!!! I think I was sitting there, looking exactly like this, for almost the entire movie (and for similar reasons as well. What can I say, I love gore). It's a bit of an understatement to say that I had high expectations for this movie, and it certainly lived up to them. In fact,

Is it out already? I'm so looking forward to this film. I've never met a tarantino film I didnt really enjoy. Though I think my favorite will always be pulp fiction, it's just a classic. and I kind of love brad when he chews scenary and acts insane. It's totally his niche.

It was well worth the wait. I haven't been this entertained by a movie in a while, it was just such a fun experience. Pulp Fiction was my favourite, but Inglourious Basterds was just epicly entertaining, and in many ways a lot more risky than Pulp.

I only like Brad when he's meant to be chewing the scenery, it's his more "subtle" characters are the ones I find myself not liking, because I feel he over-acts too much. Whereas with a role like this, over-acting is exactly what is required.

Shosanna's vengeance is brilliant, it would probably be my favourite thing about the movie (and there are plenty of things to love).

QT should be applauded for the many ballsy things he did in this movie. The use of several languages was done in a way that I think no one else would do in modern cinema, the history of the period was tweaked to provide a much more awesome ending to the war, and the way he used nothing but dialogue to build tension or even as a form of action was inspired.

It really has been an epic week for movies. Why can't every week be like this week? It was just awesome :D
