Fandom: Firefly

-Author Notes: I freakin' love sonnets. This one was almost too easy, because I wrote using what I imagined Jayne's vocabulary might be, so it wasn't hard to get the meter right. But I'm really happy with it all the same - it's Rayne and poetry! 'Tis love.

You sure ain't like no gorram summer's day.
A summer's hurricane or storm mayhap.
You're someone who's too good f'r me t' pay;
Won't ever sell you so this ain't no trap.
I like you, River; I think you're real neat.
I'd even kiss you if you said it was fine,
I bet your mouth just tastes all kinds o' sweet.
You're gun and girl so how 'bout you be mine?
You ain't no Vera, that's sure as hell true,
But if'n you want I could take you out.
And hows about my bunk? An hour or two?
Sure, sex, yeah, but that ain't all it's about.
You wind me up an' spin me all around,
An' I ain't sure that I mind bein' wound.
