-Author Notes: So yes. Took a quick, tiny break from Rayne (and when I say break I mean I paused in the middle of writing a delicious Rayne-smut fic because I had this idea) to write some lovely Simon/Kaylee. If it isn't obvious yet, I do love me some Simon.
Cuddling
He'd never really enjoyed cuddling. He believed firmly in polite distance: don't share too much, don't be vulnerable. For a long time, River was the only one he cared enough to let in. But then he'd met Kaylee - and she made him want to tear down that wall and give her his heart, full and open and brimming over with love.
She rolled over, snuggling firmly into his side. He smiled and smoothed her hair, thinking again how adorable she looked, even asleep. And closing his eyes, he pulled her closer, cuddling her to him with firm, loving arms.
