Hot Damn but that was good! I love your River-voice, it's just so true to character! And your Jayne! I just love him, so true to himself but with that soft underbelly that lets him love River. I hope you'll be writing more!

Wow - thank you so much! *beam* I do try to keep my River as close to her as I can, so I'm very glad I succeeded. Really I just base it on my own thought process, but add in all the River-ness as it fits in with the story. Heh.

And Jayne is just a blast to write! I have way too much fun with him; he's all spiky and adorable. Hee. :)

I don't know if I'll do more River-speak (this wasn't planned - it grew out of a request), but I am definitely writing something of a sequel to this called "The Emperor's New Clothes", which is about Simon discovering the relationship and having to learn to deal with it.

Thanks again; I really appreciate the feedback! And of coure I'm very glad you enjoyed it. Heh. :D

Jayne is definitely all spiky and adorable, that's probably one of the best descriptions I've seen of him!

*claps with glee* I can't wait for the sequel. Maybe you could write it with Jayne's voice since you don't want to use River's any more? I think it'd be cool to have this thoughts and point of view on what's going on.

*laughs* Oh yes - that's how I see him, like some oversized, gun-toting hedgehog. XP

Hee. Oh yeah, the sequel's gonna be funny. Simon's going to try to move River onto someone else, and when he can't do that, he's going to go to work on Jayne. *chuckles* Heh.

OOH! Brilliant! I've never written something solely through Jayne before. I'm not gonna use him for the sequel, but thanks so much for the idea! I think I'm takin' the hedgehog thing and running with it - I just need some sort of plot and I'm good to go. Yay for more fic! XD

Oh, this is awesome!
Loved the voice you gave River, so perfect!
I bet this was a hard piece to write, but it was worth it!
I hope there's more coming?
=)

Thanks so much! :)

Yeah, it was definitely hard. It was one of those times when I just HAD to write it, no matter what. So I sat at my computer and banged on the keyboard until I had something that worked. Heh.

Well, no more River-speak fics in the works (for now, at least - I need another good idea to do one), but this'll have a sequel that follows Simon's reaction when he discovers the relationship. Should be funny. Heh.

Thanks again! :D

Oh wow! That was sublime, just love your River-speak. And I loved how Jayne flirted yet still held back...until the end. The way Jayne fell, fanstastic! Would it be too much to request more?

Thank you so much! Hee - I enjoy writing pieces like this. And Jayne just makes me smile - writing him is so much fun! Tee hee. :P

Well... I wasn't going to do much more, but I think I might! Yeah! I'm going to post a link, and just go there if you'd like to request any more River-speak. Yay - I love requests. XD

OMG, I can't even type. I'm just sitting here catching my breath. WOW this was brilliant (Your River voice is the very, very best of the best) and it was HAWT as well! Your Jayne voice is just as perfect. Hold on a sec...reaching for iced tea....sipping....there,...again, this just blew me away. And then you tease with a "If you'd like more River-speak pieces" as if I could even come up with a prompt right now...still catching breath.....but I'll work on it. Thank you for writing me such a lovely piece, when it comes BOR time 08, you're nominated my dear!!! :)Ali

P.S. I loved the electron references, the putting down roots in his bed and how quickly and effectively she got rid of Inara. Again, this was just brilliant.

Yay! I'm so glad you liked it. :D I really, really enjoy writing River, so I think that helps me with keeping her in-character. And the more I write him, the better I get at Jayne; I'm pretty happy at the evolution. Heh heh heh.

*laughs* Well, if you ever do come up with a prompt then just slap it on me and I'll see what I can do! I already have one idea that I just need a little further push for. Really, I'm so very glad that you enjoyed it! It was a little more difficult to write than Suitor, but I love how it turned out.

:D (Oh yes, the electron references - I LOVED writing that bit. And actually, the crazy hair roots thing came from a story I'm writing about a crazy princess who has an octopus on her head instead of hair. XP) Thanks so much for the feedback; I really appreciate it!

I love your River-speak. Nice atom(Adam) metaphor - it's perfect for her character and a fun way to shatter the fourth wall. My favorite line -

But psychic hotline had a caller. A Simon-subconscious; soon he’d search for a sister.

- very funny and you've got quite a way with alliteration there.

Thank you so much! Yes, the atom-Adam thing was SUCH FUN. Heh heh heh. I've had the idea for awhile and was so pleased I got to use it.

Yes, that little line was fun; alliteration is one of my favorite devices, so I always go ahead full throttle when I get to use it.

Thanks again for the feedback! :)
