I think don't think, for a male, it should be tricky at all. I don't think men should have any say in it, politically or otherwise, whatsoever. :D But that's just me. I consider that choice as sole property of people with uteruses.
Well, I guess the argument goes that without a male or in the very least the sperm of a male, a baby can't be conceived at all so they should be allowed some say. I dunno about other guys, but if I was with a lady, she got pregnant, and she had an abortion without consulting me at all, that would suck. But should a woman have the final say over what happens with the baby growing inside her? Yes, that makes sense.
"I don't like the idea of abortion." "abortion is not a good thing in any way."
But why? Why do you believe these things and think this way? That's what I wanna know, because I personally don't see any reason whatsoever to be against abortion. I don't know if you are of the belief that parents should choose to carry their "almost-abortion" and give the child up for adoption instead, but I saw a photo recently that perfectly sums up my feelings about that:
And no, "most" women do not feel terrible after having abortions. I don't have any statistics to quote near me, but I feel like it's closer to 50/50 on that one. I dunno.
I feel that abortion stops giving a (potential) someone a chance at life which, to me, is the most awesome thing ever. Of course so does abstinence right? But this is slightly different. To me, abortion sucks because it's like saying, "This pregnancy wasn't really meant to be." or "This pregnancy isn't wanted." And it'd be neat if every pregnancy was one where the parent(s) were cool with.
About the adoption issue, I definitely agree that a lot of pro-lifers talk about adoption and whatnot without realizing how terrible the whole process is and how overcrowded, underfunded and just shitty foster homes, orphanages and the like actually are. I plan on adopting eventually and I hope more people do too.
I think that most politicians get into power so that they can spread their faith, and try to change the country they live in so that it aligns more with their persnal beliefs.
I'm for abortion because I don't think any woman should be forced to carry a life for nine months and give birth if she doesn't want to. A man has no idea what it feels like to be dumped and left because they accidentally knocked you up.
I don't really like to argue about it. People are far too touchy about the issue.

I'm gonna guess that almost all women who have abortions A) don't want to have them and B) feel terrible after having them done.
Is an awfully huge - and statistically incorrect - assumption.
