Oh Maya, how I hate thee

Maya and I don't get on. To be specific, its texture editor Hypershade is the single most confusing interface I have ever had to work with, and I do not understand it at all ( Read more... )

The Hypershader isn't all that bad, and much better than having to build textures via the Hypergraph like you used to have to do.

If it's any consolation, I've got about another minute and a half of animation to crank out, render, edit and finalise, as well as finish off my portfolio, in the next 2 1/2 weeks. So I know where you're at with the whole "possibly not passing" thing.

Stick at it, though. And if you need a hand with the Hypershader, give me a shout and I'll see if I can assist.

I have been told about the past methods of working it all through Hypergraph- and I'm VERY glad I don't have to do that!

Ah wow, good luck with your animation :) I wish I got to do more of it on my course, but I've got a year to work on stuff on my own when I'm in China next year. If you ever have stuff available to watch online I'd love to see some.

Cheers Steve :) If get back on Sunday night and it's still playing silly beggers I may just take you up on that.

Ooo i remember hypergraph >:(

If it comes to it mei mei just don't do any textures, they are only a segment of the whole pass criteria, and you can pass the module without them, I did so you definitely can, you have more talent in your little finger then i have in my whole body, so don't fret.

Just get everything else done then come back to the textures. I should be in Stafford for an hour or so on Thursday if you want, I can see if I can help.

Yeah, I am seriously thinking of forgetting about texturing...however Paul Lucking has given me another method of making normal maps work...

It being Thursday, I doubt you'll get this in time ^^ But thank you (though I disgree with the talent comment!)

Times like this I'm glad I never have to touch Maya.

Then again, I'm sure you'd say the same of Visual Studio. =P
