What area would your project be in?

That primarily depends on the topics that others are pursuing, the cooperation of my warden, and which warden that I select to supervise me. I'm starting at the beginning of the scientific method, if you want to look at it that way, to learn what it is that's already been established or that's already known before I start working on my own research and hypothesis.

Are you one of those working on something in the lab?

I don't believe we've met. Name's Edward Spinola, though, by this point, I've pretty much been relegated as 'another Eddie.'

No, I'm not at the moment. But I have worked on various projects in the past. My name is Dr Jonathan Crane. And in regards to the Edward issue, it seems that the barge is positively crawling with them. You may have to start a club.

I like keeping busy. It's only when you stagnate that the mind stops working and you're left raking a fake sand garden, trimming a mini bonsai, and wondering why it is that dogs have been bred to be the size of guinea pigs. I'd really rather never get to that place, doctor.

I'm not really sure why. No offense to my parents, but Edward isn't exactly the greatest name. It was number five in America around the time I died--probably as a result of that stupid vampire series--, but it wasn't that highly rated when I was born and the other Edwards seem to come from pretty different places and times anyway. Statistically, it was bound to happen eventually with some name. I'm glad I was lucky enough to be a contributing entity.

I don't exactly have a very scientific history.

I haven't decided yet. If you're agreeing to supervise me, I figured we could decide the project together. I wanted to give you a say in what you'll be helping me to work on over the next few weeks or months.

I'm asking you because I don't need a scientific history. Whatever we decide, I can study and learn about that. I need someone with a different perspective than a life like mine can offer. You're the man I get along with the best that can offer that kind of unique perspective. And, quite frankly, because this is about getting results, I'd rather not have a woman. It's nothing against their capabilities. I just know I'd get distracted.

I'm not sure it's their fault you'd get distracted. But okay, I think I can help you. I might have to check things with some of the other wardens, though, but it sounds like a good idea.

I know it's not their fault, but you should be complimenting me for recognizing the behavior and trying to prevent it. [Joking. Mostly.]

I still need to talk to George. Give me some time before you talk to the other wardens? I don't want him to think I'm trying to go above his head or around his back or anything. He's a good guy and he's trying to help me and I don't want to be the one to screw him.

That depends on what everyone else is doing. I don't feel the need to compete.

Nor do most of us, I believe, but if there is a project you fin an affinity for, some wardens may accept your help. Otherwise, perhaps you should find something you wish to look into.

My hope was to find my own project, since I can be a little obsessive when I get to working on something until it's done. It's one of my many faults. I get impatient if people can't keep up with a project I've been assigned to complete.
