I love you for those answers!

I've read to pieces several copies of LoTR, but The Hobbit is and will always be a comfort book for me. Every time I read it, it's like going back to visit an old friend.

Catcher in Rye I read because everyone was talking about it in the 90s so I wanted to see what the hype was. What I found was Holden Caufield is a huge sniveling whiner and the time I spent reading the book was hours of my life I wasted and will never get back.

*grin* ^__^

The Hobbit is totally one of the best comfort books ever. If I'm sick I curl up in bed with a mug of tea and read the "Riddles in the Dark" chapter :P

Is it okay that I love you a bit for agreeing with me about Catcher in the Rye? I spent huge chunks of high school and college trying to defend my opinion of it to people who thought it was the best book ever *sigh*.

I read The Hobbit to my daughter on a car trip when she was six/seven so it has good memories connected with it all around. One of the early chapters with the Trolls is my favorite.

It certainly is *grins* We should form a support group in fact.
