I am currently fostering this gorgeous 4-year old Maine Coon mix. I am certain one of you people might want him. ;)

About two weeks ago, the cat rescue group with which I am involved (Give Me Shelter) asked me if I could foster a cat called Joey. Joey had been at the Peninsula Humane Society, where he had stopped eating and developed hepatic lipidosis. He had to be tube fed, and though he had recovered, and was now eating on his own, he wasn't fully out of the woods. He needed to have some peace and quiet and regain his strength. He is doing better, though I think he still has some emotional trauma due to whatever happened with him before. I think he may have been abused, because sometimes he will flinch if you reach towards him.

Joey didn't seem very dignified as a name - he is a lot more regal. We have temporarily renamed him Ghost, because he moves as quickly and silently as a gray ghost. :) However, he is far from silent - this guy is a talker. I am fairly certain that he was an indoor/outdoor cat, because he definitely wants to go outside. He gets very, very anxious when confined to small spaces and definitely does better when given more room to roam. Other than that, Ghost is a real sweetie - he sits on us and purrs and gives kitty headbutts and makes biscuits and will pretty much let us cuddle him up into a pretzel. He is eating well (though has a wet food aversion, so only eats dry food) and seems to have gained some weight. He's all fluff! Look at all that fluff! Look at that raccoon-tail! :)

Ghost has been getting along well with my cat (who hasn't been as thrilled to have a house guest), but he is not happy here. Even when I give him free range throughout our place, he is very restless. He paces, cries, and claws at the door. He needs to be in a really big house where he can wander around freely. He may be even happier if there's some sort of enclosed patio where he can go outside.

Let me know if you want to meet him or know someone who wants a Maine Coon mix. I can tell you more about him.
