Shaken and stirred

Sure, we're all fine, everybody's fine here. But I'm not going to pretend it was nothing. That earthquake this morning scared the crap out of me. It lasted a long time. It just kept going. I thought of you, but then it didn't seem that big an earthquake, but the numbers -- I didn't realize it went on so long!

::hug:: Tall buildings are always scary in earthquakes, I think because of the swaying. Even though it's supposed to keep you safe, it feels wrong.

It's true, and actually the thing about my building being on rollers turned out to be a big myth. I met a structural engineer who works in the building and she said: "Nope. Nuh uh."
