My method is to warn them of their misconduct and the wrath of the store manager, then let my store man. know I warned them so if she catches them its punishment time. I avoid being the evil one ^_^; I'm scared of writing people up.
I dont think this is your fault completely though. The store should continue to run while you're off duty. If your section is being neglected its the responsibility of the manager on duty to whip these people into shape. You cant be worrying about it 24/7, afterall. A fulltime job does NOT mean your life. Unfortunately, you do have to take a lot of responsibility for it, but you should make it clear to your coworkers exactly why everyone played a small but significant part in your losing score. Hee.. its sort of like my store's "Mystery Shoppers." They pick nights where we're understaffed and extremely busy and then fail us for not giving excellent customer service to
