I really do want to know about this.

Okay so that's two finals down and two to go! One tomorrow at 8am (what the fuck is it with these early fucking exams) and one Saturday at 1:30pm. I'm going home on Sunday! :D

In other news, I've been listening to some really ace music lately and would really love my flist's answers to these questions (the why is optional on all of them, but I'd ( Read more... )

1- I think I would get tired of the album if I listen to it all my life.

2- Backstreet Boys. And Britney Spears. The '90s pop music memories.

3- Uh. Don't know.

4- Haven't been listening to new music much.

5- Regina Spekter?

C'mon man, it's one album OR NOTHING. NO MUSIC AT ALL. Then what would you choose?

Haha, I've been mocked for having Backstreet Boys on my computer. Biznatches don't know what's what.

Do you perchance know a good album by her? A lot of people suggest her but she has so many albums out, I don't know which to try.

(thank you for answering!)

I can make my own music......if you know what I mean..

Her latest album?
I don't know. I just like 'Fidelity' [the song we sang in Christine's car d= ].

*small voice* I've never listened to Tori Amos.

God, yes. I love Patti Smith. I fall in love with her again every time I hear Gloria. And I really liked the PJ Harvey you uploaded a while ago (Sheela Na Gig). Do you have favorite albums for some of these suggestions?

I'm really wary of female singers because I generally go for loud music and I've encountered too many women whose voices can't match the strength of the music. I'll definitely have a go at these.

(Thank you for your opinions!)

Tori's voice DEFINITELY matches the strength of her music, especially in her work between the years 1994-1999. I would recommend checking out Under the Pink, Boys For Pele and from the choirgirl hotel, as those, I believe, are her three strongest albums. Also, any live recordings from 1996-2002 are great--I have a CRAPLOAD of live stuff and I would be more than happy to make some copies for you.

As for PJ Harvey, I would start with Dry, Rid of Me and To Bring You My Love (which I just did a term paper on, incidentally!).

Since we go to the same school, I would love to get together for coffee at some point with you and discuss this stuff! WOO.

Excellent! I will definitely check these out. I am consciously trying to expand my taste in female singers. I was too intimidated to read your paper because I'd never listened to her before.

I'd love to! I leave for winter break on Sunday, but I'll be back the 2nd. Hmm, my new schedule says Monday and Wednesday afternoons are best, or a weekend, of course. (Mmm, music.)

1) Everclear's Sparkle and Fade
2) Oldies in general
3) The Temptations!
4) re-reading kids books (like Ewing and Pierce)

5) None that you didnt give me in the first place, but you could always revisit pink's early work...

3 days grace huh?

Do you still listen to these bands? When was the last time, just curious, I like going back sometimes

I do! I'm actually finally going through my unsifted folders of music because I've been listening to the same stuff for a while. Former me downloaded some good stuff, I'm discovering. XD
