[The following is a public broadcast throughout the Macross 7 fleet a few hours before the mission "Sound Force". Along with a similar address to Macross Frontier by its own president, it's also copied to the GDF network]

So... these are the aliens that have been pestering the Macross fleets.

Are there any specific precautions a more standardized fighting force should take against the Vajra? Technical data's been slow to filter in.

You'll have to ask NUNS or possibly SMS directly, but I believe they've been upgrading their communications equipment, at the least. The Vajra can jam certain kinds of comms.

Knowing NUNS, they're also probably working on some kind of ridiculous new strategy or weapons upgrade to account for the enemy's adaptability, but I'm not sure if that will pan out.

Really, NUNS could stand to be better at information sharing at all levels. At least the GDF seems to have some skill at getting other groups to cooperate.

It's come to my attention that NUNS is doing a lot of reorganizing now that they're on a war footing against these things, as well as our mysterious friends from before.

Not only that, but given our past experiences, I think it's important to establish a dedicated defense force for City 7, so...well, let me get to the point.

How would you like to have your own squad command, Gamlin?

It would be an honor. But what about my obligations to the Diamond Force, what little of it remains?

Well, with NUNS moving to a war footing, I hear they're shuffling most of the shorthanded units around and merging them anyway - there might not be a Diamond Force squad in a week or so.

It's up to you what's more important, but I'd just want someone I know I can trust on hand to protect City 7's civilians. After all, if I didn't, I'd have to leave that sort of thing up to Nekki Basara.
