A few days after the retrieval of City 7, the one-point-five kilometers long Battle 7 is docked with Independence-1. The fleet is supposed to be self sustaining, but since it is within the Earth Sphere, they may as well take advantage of the supplies. Not to mention it gives Maximilian Jenius an excuse to see the GDF allies they have been working

"Quite a few years ago, there was a dangerous situation. A rogue mage was gathering a type of Lost Logia, Jewel Seeds, that were spread in the Japan region of Earth. The situation was dangerous because the Seeds were so potent, putting so many of them together risked creating a rip in dimensions so powerful, that the whole planet and even surrounding ones could be destroyed - accidents like this happened earlier, and this Lost Logia has been outlawed. But the mage was a wanted criminal too, and a highly unpredictable and powerful one. Her name was Precia Testarossa."

Teana has to pause to catch her breath. At least the talk is interesting so it counts as part of resting after the training!
"It is believed that she wanted to create a dimensional passage to the lost world of Al Hazard. It's suspected that her goal was to revive her tragically lost daughter, although nobody has an idea on how she was going to use Al Hazard's lost technology to achieve her goal. At any rate, the dangers involved were too great and she had to be stopped. She must have realized that too, as she did not work directly - the Jewel Seeds were collected using an agent, an abused clone of her daughter who was neither aware of Testarossa's true intentions nor of her own origin."

The captain of Battle 7 listens attentively to the tale, then speaks.

"No, I have not. I can't say I agree with people fighting at the age of seven...

But extraordinary situations sometimes call for extraordinary measures."
