Weekend #?? of summer was a good one. It involved various escapades, including a viewing of HP:OotP, a trip to Chicago to see Blue Man Group, buying a comforter (thus ending the week-long comforter vs. quilt debate), and a lot of loafing.

Let's see. ( I really liked HP:OotP. )

Yeah, I totally agree about the pace. It moved so quickly. They keep talking about how it's the shortest! one! yet! But, well, if they could have a bit more character development, I wouldn't mind it being 10 or 20 minutes longer. I thought they set aside a good chunk developing Luna (the scene with her and Harry with the thestrals and their scene at the end), but scenes like Fred and George's exit seemed really rushed. And the DA kids didn't get to show much of their stuff in the Ministry aside from random stunning spells. I would have liked more Ron and Ginny, too. So, yeah, many characters seemed to suffer in order to move the plot along quickly. I mean, we didn't even really get to see Harry grieve much for Sirius.

Yeah, all the comments about it being the shortest one yet made me wonder what they could've done with an extra half hour or so. And the way they changed Sirius's death kind of bothered me, now that you mention it. I guess it wasn't the deepest of the films . . . Oh well.
