has anybody heard of the 60 year old woman who fell and hit her head while she was walking out onto a dock on the Connecticut River? Rescue workers came and back boarded her and put her on a safety boat, but when the boat capsized and she sunk the bottom and drowned

well my friend seth's summer roommate was just struck by lightning and died. for real. his friend was steve.  the last time they were in touch was june 26th on facebook. seth just found out yesterday. now that's a bizarre way to go.

but seriously, have you ever been backboarded? once you're on it, you have absolutely no control. and if the people drop you, you start to sink. it's not like a buoy or something. it's kinda scary. i learned this when i was getting life guard certified and we were all backboarded by each other and they sort of dropped me a bit by accident..

i can't wait to see you.

and i'm so psyched for school. it'll be "boogie chillin'." yes, we've had a grand time inventing new words/phrases this week, pat, taya, reagan and i.

and yes i have been backboarded..a many time. ski patrol...the ski area..yeah almost my entire month i give up my free time to participate in training sessions for the ski patrol...
