Minifigure Leaks!

Feb 10, 2023 00:13

Five (or maybe six) minifigs from the lego Harry Potter theme have leaked! From the look of them, they're mostly from the Hogsmeade visit in Prisoner of Azkaban. Harry, Hermione, Ron and Draco are anyway (it's consistent both with the outfits and the midi legs we typically see for third and fourth years). It seems there is also the first ever ( Read more... )

How funny, I was just watching this movie version couple days ago, and remembering invisible Harry scaring Draco and pals with snowballs, pantsing, and dragging Draco closer to Shack. That scared face on Draco works perfectly for me. LOL. Awesome how Lego brings these scenes to play with incredibly close matches on those torsos, though I too wish they had made Aberforth's shirt less Albus style flamboyant in color. It does bring the Knight Bus & Stan to mind, plus the bright purple makes him look like just a grumpy version of Albus... honestly, without your showing Abe's photo, that's who I thought it was.

Thanks for sharing and keeping us informed!

And here's the SShack scene...

I've just spent a silly amount of time on bricklink not able to decide which hat I'd've used for Draco instead. Ultimately I'm going to put Crabbe in the black Ushanka. We really need a Ushanka with the flaps up for Draco, but then we couldn't have his scared face, and that's rather a must. Imperial Guard hat 16497 (unprinted) and Kepi 30135 are both too tailored.

I think with the exception of Aberforth (and there I can't see enough to actually be able to tell), the five torsos we're seeing can be used easily elsewhere, always a good thing budgetwise.

I really wish they'd warm to the other colours they have at their disposal. Plus I can't believe deep purple is more useful in other sets than the tones he was actually wearing.

Agree with your ushanka thoughts. Sent pix on phone of ideas, though probably not gonna work. The Imperial cap has better shape match, but not furry.

Yeah, kinda tired of purple being a "go to" color for Dumbledore bros. Even the sand red would have been better, and yes, I remember they retired that color. Too bad, it really works in so many ways.

If I were trying to characterise Draco's hat, I think the crispness matters more than the fur. He's on the posh end of the spectrum, and his outfit contrasts sharply with Ron's and his (presumably) Molly-knitted cap. The CMF hat, in addition to needing a recolour to be used here, is too 'soft' for my taste. I'd skip the fur entirely and go with the SW cap before that one (plus it has the bonus of subconsciously signalling 'villain' in the scene (poor Draco, lol)).

Well purple is 'magical' so I think we're doomed to see more of it than we should, plus they seem to have a directive to colourise the world.
