I'm having a hard time finding a specific fic that I read a long time ago, but remember pretty well. It took place during the "lie low at Lupin's" summer, and R/S had no previous sexual relationship, but there might have been some UST before that. You're right. The story is called Dog and it's by archon_mentha on her skyhawke journal. Your summary triggered my memory and I went looking for the story.
