Aaaaaah damn it there's this fiction... I don't remember the name but it's from Sirius' POV, and he thinks about 'the strange Lupin boy' in some manner and he realizes Remus just hates to be touched and one scene I remember vividly went something along these lines:

"Are you doing this to everyone?" Sirius asked.

[Remus lets off some sneaky remark about another topic]...

And then Sirius, so to say, teaches Remus how to touch and to be touched. It ends with a sexual scene I think, but it was so cute. This fic is just ace. If I remember it I'll def. come back!! Sorry for this useless comment otherwise.

You must read Momentum by Children of the Shadows for the Lupins. She wrote the IMHO the most nuanced and realistic family life for Remus. And as a bonus, you get nutty, childless Aunt Nash! But seriously, Momentum is long but the coming out scenes are so well done and by the time John Lupin died in the fic, I wept.

I'm sorry if this doesn't quite fit your request, but all I could think of was One Angel in Another's Hell by aura218. It's an excellent Good Omens crossover, sad and sweet and hopeful, and features a lot of affection-starved Remus.

I have never heard of Good Omens before, so I looked it up at Wikipedia (it sort of reminds me of 'Dogma', actually) but the fic was very easy to understand anyways. It really was lovely. Thank you!
