These vampires are *sparkly*! Or something. Also, apparently sunlight doesn't kill them dead, or perhaps it waits an appropriate interval before making with the deadening. Not sure, haven't read the books.
they're pale-faced and more beautiful than any other human being. (sounds cheesy, I know) Their skin is sparkling when they get into sunlight (that's why the vampire family lives in a rainy village) so *sparkly* is a good word I guess ;D They can be killed by tearing their body into pieces and burning them afterwards.
I've heard from quite a few people how much they enjoyed reading the series.... but all the hype just kinda turned me off. I think I would rather re-read my Anne Rice books instead >_>
I'd read the first two books and then I made the mistake of walking into a Hot Topic and seeing the marketing first hand. It (stupidly) made me rather upset. Yes, I would have enjoyed them more without the hype.

Hey, it's just another vampire version.

It kind of makes me disgusted to have enjoyed them (save the fourth book, which was just utterly ridiculous).
Ah well, at least my girlfriend who's a high up at Hot Topic is getting a nice bonus from it all!
