You probably don't need a pep talk from me. father_turtle February 8 2007, 18:00:19 UTC
I'm where you are at the moment, though my current job is a little more permanent than Banana Republic.

There is nothing wrong with sticking to your guns. I'm working at this rec center as a means of making sure I can support my family until I can get back into a congregation as a pastor. If Banana Republic is what it takes to keep you in New York to follow your dream, by all means, stick with it. You're not a failure--the failure would be to quit. You've got the grit; the charm will come.

Besides, I need you in publishing for when I finally write something worth the trouble of publishing! *wink*

I believe in you. Coming from an anonymous poster who possibly doesn't know a thing about you,I know that statement might not seem that wonderful, but the only people I've ever seen ultimately fail are those who are oblivious to the possibility of failure. Keep positive and avoid want you don't want. You'll succeed in no time*!

*may actually take time

Hey, babe. I know we haven't "talked" in many months, but I just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you. And that I (an English major-turned-mathematics major) do admire you, and I hope that the Banana Republic job (or something along those lines) will work out quite well for the time being.
