Angel had been stuck in worse places, although everyone assured him that this place got worse. Right now there was a whole lot of nothing to do but Angel was comfortable with filling up spare time. He had a lot of it to fill. At least he wasn't stuck indoors. Right now.

He chuckled at Faith's suggestion. "Yeah but then they might forget to get me clean sheets."

"Does most people," Angel responded blandly. Most of the time he didn't think that much of it. And drinking pig's blood so much worse than drinking human blood, at least taste wise. Mentally, it helped him keep a lock down on Angelus.

Or so you like to think, Soul Boy

"Lorne used to make me a Bloody Mary that was...really good," he responded with a bit of a crooked grin.

"Knew I liked that guy." Faith smiled again, remembering how cool he'd been to her. Fred told her he sat over her the whole time when she'd coma'd out again.

"So what do you think? Looking like you're outta luck here," she mentioned, nodding toward the "butcher's" area.

"Lorne's a good guy," Angel nodded. He kept his head down, hands still shoved in his pockets. He glanced up at the butcher's area and tried not to sigh.

"It's alright. I'll figure something out and I can go days without feeding." It wasn't good for him and it made him a little crazy but he could go days. "Besides, I had the vampire equivalent of a power bar about an hour before I got here. I took a bite out of the Senior Partner's vessel."

That made her a little twitchy. As a rule hungry vampires were never a good thing, but this was Angel. He'd be fine. It wouldn't be a big deal.

Faith crinkled her nose at his last comment and tilted her head in confusion. "One of the evil law firm dudes?" She might be fishing again. It had been hard to hear the trickle of rumors that said he'd gone dark side. Faith didn't believe them mostly because she didn't want to.

It wouldn't be an issue for a few days at least. After that, Angel would spend more and more time by himself trying to manage the hunger.

He nodded at Faith's question. "Wolfram & Hart are run by the Senior Partners. They're like the Powers That Be's counterparts. I wanted to hurt them enough that they'd have to step back and give us a chance to clean things up a little. To do that, I had to get close and they had to trust me so...I let them think I'd seen their side of things. They assigned me this...Associate to 'help' me. He was a human vessel they created and gave a large portion of their power to. In his blood. I needed that power to hit them really hard."

Faith would feel guilty about that, even though it wouldn't be her fault. Leaving Angel out would suck majorly.

She listened intently as they made their way back out of the shop, happy to hear the truth and not a little impressed with how far he went to get to those guys. Though, she was a little speechless as well. What all of that must have entailed, it couldn't have been a cakewalk. "Damn, Angel."

Angel shrugged in response. "I had to do something."

He looked over at Faith. "So how've you been> Before coming here I mean."

"Same ol', same ol'. Kicking ass, taking names. Was in duck and cover mode to avoid another confrontation with the law." That was about all Angel was going to get out of her without specific questions. She had never been share gal, especially when she didn't want to burden others with her blather.

Angel nodded, considering Faith's words. "The twelve step program is going well?"

He got a loose shrugs and averted eyes. She took a little time to respond, because she wanted to just say yes and be done with it. "Five by five, Sponsor man."

Which wasn't exactly the truth. Still, she considered the fact that there wasn't anymore blood on her hands a positive. Didn't matter that it sucked everyday. It was supposed to.

Angel nodded, letting that slide even though he was aware that was Faith's pat answer for when she wasn't doing so fine.

"Alright. You know if you need to talk or blow off steam..."

He let that lie because by now, Faith knew.

She nodded. "Sure, we'll find a couch, I'll spill my secrets. Then we'll get ice cream!" Faith knew she was being snippy, but she tried to smile and make a joke of her comments. She pushed him lightly on the shoulder.

"You know how it goes. Anyway, mostly I'm not sure what to make of the island. You never heard of a place called Acairnia? Like, some hell dimension or whatever?" Change of subject, that would fix the problem. She'd noted some changes in herself that she didn't want to exactly bring up until they were into the conversation. He'd probably want to figure out what her limits were and be all mentor guy for her.

Angel chuckled at Faith's couch comment and the shove to his shoulder. He got the snippy and he let it slide right off his back.

He shook his head at her question about Acairnia. "No but there hundreds, maybe thousands of hell dimensions. If I had a library...I might be able to find some information on it. I can't believe we can't rip our way out of here. Quar'Toth was supposed to be inescapable and Co-" he stopped and cleared his throat, remembering no one knew about Connor. "Uhm I've known a couple of people who managed to get out."

The slip up went unnoticed, of course. Faith was more concerned with the here and now anyway. She'd never admit to wishing Buffy was here, never in a million years. Angel was better for this stuff anyway. Angel didn't order her around and-- oookay time to stop with the issues, Comagirl.

"Saw this little redhead trying to use some serious magic on the boundary. Didn't even scratch and she ended up on her ass. Angel, not to be all obvious-stating, but we're pretty much fucked."

Angel sighed at the revelation about the magic user. He took a deep, unneeded breath and nodded. "So we'll just work with what we've got here."
