After speaking with Dante, Cissnei had grabbed her things and headed out, only just a little bit unnerved by the heavy fog that surrounded her. It was a great place to be as a preadator stalking prey, but being on the opposite end of that made her uneasy.

And the island had made it quite clear that they were the hunted here.

Ignoring the corpses that littered the ground, carefully stepping over the ones that crossed her path, Cissnei made it to the commons a little longer than five minutes after she had ended contact with Dante. Casting her gaze around, the young Turk rolled her wrist, shifting Rekka which was in her hand as well as she looked for the devil hunter.

"Up here," Dante called quietly from the roof. Having spied the redhead as she rounded the corner, the devil hunter saw no reason to reveal himself until she was a bit closer. And she'd come armed, good girl.

He said nothing else for the moment, but went back to his self-appointed task of keeping watch from his high vantage point, eyes and ears open to any sort of disturbance.

If Cissnei wasn't armed, she wasn't doing her job right. Looking up toward the source of the voice, the girl caught sight of the other and nodded to him to show she had heard him before turning, resting her back against the wall of the store and waiting for anyone else who might of decided to show.

One less front to worry about being attacked from, after all.

Maggie had been outside when she had texted the devil hunter, so it didn't take long for the bookworm to arrive at the shops. Unlike Cissnei, it appeared that Maggie was unarmed. She kept meaning to go to Heather for a weapon, but with the cabins changing...she never had the chance.

The only thing on her person was one of the books she had brought with her when she arrived. She had already read four times, so she figured it was her safest bet for a weapon at this point. Ironically enough, it was a copy of H.G. Wells' The Island of Doctor Moreau. A classic, but she wasn't against ripping pages from books to use as weapons.

The twenty-year old paper sister slowly approached Cissnei, noticing Dante but not saying anything to him. At well over six feet tall, she had to look downwards at Cissnei to make eye contact. "Hello."

"When did you take up lurking as a sport, Trish?" Dante quietly asked with a grin.

He didn't turn, just kept his back to her. He sort of trusted her not to stab him in the back, but just in case, the silver pistol was already in his hand and resting gently by his side, hidden by a fold of aged red coat.

There was a breeze fluttering white hair over his brow, but he kept still, as still as death. Having her here was going to be a fun ride, of that he was sure.

She would chide him on not trusting her later, but for now she just played along in amusement with his comment. If there was one person in the entire universe that Trish would never betray it was Dante. Anyone else was fair game.

Once you've done it once it sort of became easy to do it again. But a certain red-coated hunter happened to be her reason in the first place...

She glanced over her shoulder at him. "When it became useful." She flashed him a mischievous smile.

He just snickered in answer, shaking his head. Finally, he craned his neck around to quirk an eyebrow her way, coupled with his slanted grin. Chuckling, Dante rolled easily to his feet, heaving a sigh as he straightened, cracking his neck and shoulders.

"Gettin' old," he teased, stretching a bit. But he straightened his gunbelt and slung the Alastor back in its harness and propped a booted foot atop one of the bricks decorating the building's front.

He gazed out over the resort, a frown creasing his brows. "Don't like this," he drawled. "Don't like it one damned bit."

She eyed him as he stood and stretched out his muscles and cracked his bones. The expression on her face as she watched him was guarded, hidden beneath a mixture of vague boredom and mild interest and amusement. In truth she was rather thoughtful and intrigued by the entire thing. While they weren't not how each other remembered the other they had quite an age gap between them. On the one hand it didn't bother her because Dante was Dante was Dante and she was glad to be with him no matter what; on the other it was annoying in the fact that it was still simply yet another mystery to this place.

She turned back to watching the opposite side though replied. "Considering what I've been told about this place... me either. Also disappointing--but I imagine it's more worrisome for future events than anything."

Seeing the fairly large group of people gathered, Riku assumed he was in the right place. He'd put his hood back up, not wanting people to see him as he was, until he was ready for them to see it. He waves to Dante, feeling a little silly for the incognito affectation he was making.

"You're...Dante? So, where are we headed?"

Dante turned around and quirked an eyebrow. Hn, this kid seemed right at home here, with the black robe and hood.

"Yeah, that's me. And I ain't gotta clue." He gestured vaguely to the north. "That-a-way. The big General says there's some sorta barrier that keeps the uglies out during the day, but goes down at night. Might start there."

Crossing his arms out of habit, Riku nodded.

"Sounds like a plan. Anyone try this before, or are we pioneers?"

Changing his mind, Riku lets his hood down. Sure, he didn't know any of these people, but all the same, hiding his face would only encourage suspicion in the young man.

"Ain't had time to get up there during the night, kid," Dante told him. "Been too busy trying to keep folks alive. Sephiroth said those apes charged the barrier the last time. Nearly gutted the poor bastard."

Dante shook his head with a sigh. "So we'll just see."

Toting his sawed-off shotgun and salt-packed shells along with other weapons for fighting the supernatural, Dean arrived at the Commons and nodded to the hunter and those gathered around him.

"So, am I the last one to the prom, or are we waiting on someone else?" he asked with one brow slightly cocked.

"You aren't the last, it seems," came the quiet voice from behind Dean, belonging to the tall, slender yet somewhat frightening man reminiscent of a vampire. Or demon, Vincent recalled. He took his place in the loose circle of companions. He peered at those present, marking new faces and familiar ones he had not expected to see on this venture.

"He's waiting for me," Sephiroth answered Dean with quiet authority. "Because I requested it." The tall General strode from the darkness calmly, gleaming blade held in his left hand.

Dressed in SOLDIER black and silver, Sephiroth shook his head and glanced at the red clad hunter. "You do realize this is probably a stupid idea, yes?"

Dante shrugged. "Yeah?" Surrounded by the fighters, the hunter began to automatically take stock of weapons, abilities that he knew so far, the best way to get them organized and keep all of 'em alive should trouble threaten.

"Look at it this way, Gen'ral," he drawled, thumbs hooked in his belt as he turned back around. "This shithole's been aggravatin' us since we fucking got here." Blue eyes were flinty. "I figure it's time to turn the damned tables a lil' bit."

Surveying the group, the devil hunter moved through it to stand beside Trish, smacking his hands together to get attention.

"All right, folks, listen up!" Waiting a minute, he then went on. "Ain't gotta clue what we're gonna find up there, so everyone better be awake and ready for anything. We know this place don't play around when it gets pissed, so if ya got any problems gettin' mauled or bloody, ya best head on back to the playpens." Glancing at Trish, he then said, "'Cause ain't no one here gonna have time to haul anyone's asses from the fire if ya get tagged, got that?"

Thumbs still hooked in his belt and hip cocked, heel tapping on the concrete, he gazed over the gathered and started splitting off the members. "Trish'll be up here with me; we'll take point." Although she hadn't been on the island long, he still trusted her to watch his back.

"Ciss, you and Valentine cover the left; Dean, hook up with Mags and head to the right. Gen'ral, wanna guard our asses with Riku here?"

"Gotcha." Cissnei nodded when her name was called, casting her gaze around for Vincent before she spotted the man. Him again, the had protected the kids in the building before, so at least it wouldn't be a total surprise to deal with.

What bothered her though, was the distinct lack of Turks on this mission. Elena she wrote off-Cissnei hardly understood what she was on about half the time anyway, but Tseng not showing was almost a disappointment. Ah well, being second had him at the desk anyway, back at home. Besides, she had fought with some in this group before.

The girl folded her arms at her elbows, Rekka dangling between her fingers as she waited for them to get moving.

"Got it." Riku nodded, and looked to his "partner" Sephiroth, noting the unsettling resemblance the man had to his "natural" form. Riku longed to return to his original form, but as long as there was fighting to be done, Riku needed the command over Darkness that Ansem's form afforded him.

"So...how long have you been here?" Riku directed his question toward the General, wanting to get to know his fellow warrior. He'd spent so much time working alone, under orders from DiZ, that Riku scarcely remembered how to work as a team with anyone.

"Far too long," was the quiet modulated reply, echoed by a slight sigh. Sephiroth stared towards the north in silence for a moment, then shook his head and vented a small snort. "Madness," he muttered, shifting his grip on the Masamune.

But he set his shoulders and, with a look to Riku beside him, gestured for him to spread out a bit, waiting for the others to get moving. They were still in speaking distance, but Sephiroth wanted to get this over with. He knew they were probably headed for trouble.
