ever since i got back from france, i have been 1000x more forgiving of myself and my body image. at this point, if i hadn't been such a bad journaler of late, i'd say something along the lines of... perhaps you have noticed that i haven't been posting twice a week about feeling disgusting. however, i haven't really been posting twice a week about ( Read more... )

good! Yeah, over here there seem to be body issues galore. I do have the feeling that somewhere in the world, perhaps people are just concentrating on life. Now if only they would send their clothes over here, because I'm tired of trying on skin-tight clothes in unflattering cuts.

and the irony is that despite these body issues, north americans are just so damn sedentary... more so in the states than here in canada...

That's so interesting. I have this stereotype that French women look like the white women in LA: skinny a sticks. I can get behind sensual living . . .

oh many of them are skinny... not toothpick skinny, but healthy weight skinny. i honestly think it comes from being less weight-obsessed as a culture. less yo-yo dieting, etc. but softness and curves are considered a good thing. also, there are very few obese people compared to here.

Yet another reason I pretty much want to move to France. Another is that when it comes to style the French care more about personal style and what each woman looks good in rather than what is "in" at that moment. The rest of us should be so sensible. Yay for indulging in life.

i completely agree!! i was so embarrassed that my mom wore crocs in paris.... :( the french just have so much style and class. i love it.
