I applied to Cambridge, and when I was given an interview I thought "wtf am I doing, I don't even want to go here", and I really bombed on my interview. I had a good time because I sort of said what I wanted, but it wasn't really related to the subject at hand. At all. My rejection letter was not a huge surprise.
Glad to see I wasn't the only one that did that. Everyone else in my cohort applied to multiple programs. One applied to 17! I wonder how common this really is?
I also applied to only one graduate program. It was my top, and only, choice! I thought about other places, but I really didn't want to go to other places.
