Obviously, he'd been ready for them. Saying you liked something was like blood in the water to trolls, and no amount of humiliating yourself would satisfy all their hunger.
So he'd set traps. Soundproofing the paths to his shadowy quarters had been a courtesy to others on the site who, for reasons passing understanding, didn't want to listen to "Like a G6" dozens of times while he did his editing. It was just good luck that it also allowed him to blast the attacking trolls with music without catching its effects himself- "Sexy Bitch" for moral crusaders, "Fifteen" for those who thought they were hardcore, "The Hoedown Throwdown" for... just about anyone.
It was almost as good as a flame shield. Only the most stubborn of trolls even made it to Todd's door, and those were so scorched by their panicking fellows that they rarely had the strength to force their way in. The war club hadn't been needed in months.
This wave, though, had contained one of the special ones, so big it barely fit ( ... )
