Goes Around, Comes Around - PG-15foibles_fablesMay 10 2009, 16:33:59 UTC
I don't know if this is exactly what you were looking for, but here goes! ____
It's too late for it now, way too late, but George is missing it. He's missing the late nights spent studying for his intern exam retake (which, in retrospect, didn't really end up making his life any better). He's missing how she would walk around the crapartment in the morning, wearing a half-asleep smile, tootbrush hanging limply from the corner of her mouth. He remembers how they used to talk for hours, dodging cockroaches, and that one time they made a slightly intoxicated late-night run to Wal-Mart to buy a space heater.
He just plain misses her.
That night when she looked him straight in the eye, one hand on the doorknob and the other on the side of her neck (she held herself there sometimes when she was stressed) and uttered, "Rent the room." he knew. There was no doubt about it, it was written all over her face. He read her like a book. There's someone else, and it's Mark Sloan. Sorry, but not sorry. And then, all too late (he's beginning to

You know, I really loved these two, which is surprising because season four was so heavy on the G/L towards the end and I normally despite canon that is being shoved down your throat. But I liked them, and I wanted them together, and at first I was resistant to Mark and Lexie because of the possibility of George/Lexie, but this makes my love for Mark and Lexie cemented. I'm not exactly sure if that was what you were going for, and I understand that this was suppose to be George/Lexie, but seeing it all from his eyes is something similar to an affirmation. I like that you wrote him seeing what he could have had and realizing that he lost it.

I was a hardcore G/L fan for a while and wouldn't exactly mind a relapse I thought they would be good for each other. I just hate that they deleted the scene where she officially moved out of the apartment, because apparently it existed.

I'm so glad you like it, Ally. I always get worried responding to these prompts because I imagine the people who requested them always have so much more in mind than what I write. And I adore you writing, too!

My heart always breaks for Mark where Addison is concerned =( And it most definitely does here, as well =( It's so sad the way he just squishes (for lack of a better word, lol) down who he really is and what he wants just to keep up the illusion for her. Sigh. This ship is making me realize that there were a lot of things Mark would have done for her =(
This depressed me =( In a good way though. Awesome job, as always =)

I'm kind of a sucker for fic that depresses me in a good way, so it's nice to know this one had that effect on you. He would have done so much for her, I think. She missed a very good thing with him.

I want to quote everything! I LOVE how Mark just holds her and he knows just knows what she needs.
He’s all she has and deeper in the back of her mind, she realizes that right now, he’s all she needs.
Beautiful ending. I loved it. Thank you for writing this. =)
