I love you. There is so not enough fic out in the world about L/V and I sobbed reading this. It's so good, so beautiful, so poignant. I just miss Veronica and the chance that she and Linc might have had...this fic captures all my sadness at the fact that these are the things that never happened to Veronica...*sigh*
I don't know if this was intentional, but this line '“Don’t give up on me,” she says, repeating words he’s said before'--Veronica says that to Lincoln when she comes to see him in his cell the day of the execution (right before she goes to meet the informant who ends up being Hale). Anyway, even if you didn't mean to, beautiful throw back, she's repeating words he's said to her before, that she's repeated before...ah, gah, gah, gah! I'm in heaven. I'll read this over and over. Thank you so much!
Can I just tell you that feedback like yours makes me feel all mushy gushy and good inside? I love that you loved this, and I'm so very thankful for your kind words. I too, miss veronica... I didn't think I would, but I do, but I think I miss her and Linc the most.
The "don't give up on me" line was intentional because that is by far my favorite L/V scene. Well, that and the one where she tells him she's loved him since the first moment she ever saw him. *sighs* it makes me sad just thinking of it.
You have just rocked my socks. This is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for ending it the way you did. Veronica was never my favourite person, but I always wanted her to have a happy ending too. *sighs*
You are such a fantastic writer, and I really like getting to read these early. Let me know if you have anything else for me to take a look at. Maybe a new M/S story...just a suggestion ;)
Right back at you! And... you're going to regret you said that because I do actually have a m/s story (and a jane/linc one) that I'm not at all happy with and have been sitting on for a while. Got anything for me? Maybe we can swtich?
I actually scribbled down a few ideas for a James/Lily (Harry Potter, in case you don't read them) story, but I'm not sure if it's something I'm going to continue working on. But beyond that I haven't written anything lately.
Go ahead and send me your story, I'd love to take a look!
I liked V and I wish we had gotten to see more of L/V. I love fics like that that fill in the gaps. Very poignant.
He looks at her and she tries to see past the broken man before her and remember the man he once was. The guy who helped her way back when, when she was young and desperate and her father was slowly ruining her. The guy who selflessly raised his brother in the wake of his mother’s death and in his father’s abandonment. Tries to forget how much she still loves him even after it all -- after Lisa and the baby and the broken promises. That's my favorite part. It just says so much about Linc and V.
