And yet another one to add to my memories! I have missed your GG fics and this one may be one of your best - in my humble opinion :) Everything about Serena was so spot-on and I love the way you write her inner dialogue because you know her character and write her perfectly. I never really watched Gilmore Girls so I can't say that Jess is in character or not though I'm sure he is. I actually started copying and pasting all of the lines I loved until I realized that 3/4 of the fic had wound up in my comment lol Just that whole, "I wrote a book once" and everything that followed - about a girl, Serena thinking of Dan... just everything. GAH! You are so damn good!

Oh, man. This:

“So what is it that you do?” She asks, bottom lip between her teeth, eyes wide and she thinks, maybe, this is the only thing she’s ever really been good at. Boys. Men. The ever-so-simplistic rules of attraction. She leans in closer out of nothing but habit.

So, so, SO Serena. I like my Serena dark and angsty because I never bought the happy-go-lucky version and this is true to form. I don't really remember if Jess' book was essentially about Rory but it was for her just as much it was for himself, I think, so that line works too.

Good stuff.

You know I love me some Blair, but I love the other version of Serena too. That sunshine and rainbows verison just did not work for me at all.

Oh, wow. I officially ship this. Your writing is wonderful, and I love how much you've done with so little and used the whole idea of boy-writes-about-girl to link them.

It’s routine, this moment, this brief walk down memory lane and the thought that comes directly afterward is when did I let this become my life? because she never wanted to be the girl who dwelled on what could have been instead of what is.

It's sad, because I totally agree that this is how Serena feels, and yet I often imagine her ending up this way. She's kind of a tragic girl.

She so is. I love Blair and how she's all dark and twisty, but I often think people pass by Serena because in the beginning it was all supposed to be about sunshine and rainbows for her compared to Blair's problems. I have no idea if that makes any sense at all, but thank you for reading. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I've missed your gossip girl fics. This is amazing, there is so much said in such a short fic. Are you planning on writing any Rufus and Lily fanfics soon?

I've missed writing GG fics... sadly, though, I stopped watching somewhere during season two and have no idea what is going on. I still love L/R though, so maybe some fics set pre series or during season 1 and 2 aren't completely out of the realm of possibilities?

You are too nice! *blushes* I think I might do a Season 1 re-watch this summer if I can find the DVD's cheap enough, so that will most definitely spark my writing gene again... hopefully. I do miss them. A lot. They always were my favorite part of GG.
