Some people might think having a father who still looks like a 25 year old movie star would be a good thing, But I’m 15. My girl friends think he’s hot, which is just gross. While the boys just love the fact that my father is a werewolf. Plus, I live with vampires. How cool is that? They are dying to know how it feels like to have those fangs sink into your skin. I wouldn’t know. It’s been well established that anyone sinking fang or claw into my skin before I am 18 years of age will not actually live to regret it. Everyone seems to have taken that threat seriously. There are pluses. My father still remains most favored food source for the Master of the City. I’m not allowed to watch. But I do get killer clothes. Having the “in” crowd at school drooling over my wardrobe almost makes up for the fact that they go out of their way to avoid me. Anita told me to ignore them. They don’t know any better. Besides, she’s teaching me how to shoot a gun. When I threaten, people listen. Dad thinks I spend too much time with her.

He licked along her neck; the taste of her skin, the pulse beneath that skin, the blood pumping through that pulse, should have intoxicated him. She was already panting, writhing in his grip, anxious for him to sink his fangs deep into her flesh. His kiss had always been the icing for his lovers. One bite would bring an orgasmic rush like no other. Humans had lined up for the privilege. Now, he couldn’t bear to have them near him. The revulsion in their eyes warring with the rumors of the pleasures to be had angered him dangerously. She begged for it, but she kept her eyes closed. The better not to see him with. He couldn’t bring himself to blame her. He resented the lone full length mirror in his bedroom. He couldn’t hide from its bitter reality. He struck suddenly, fangs cutting deep, the sweet nectar from her veins pouring forth. She arched, cried out, and then, wordless, gave herself over to the ecstasy. He took no satisfaction from her release. Once his kiss had been the strongest weapon in his arsenal of seduction. Now, he used it to survive. Most days he doubted it was worth it.
