To clarify, MSU's professor of shamanism, Dr. Robert McKinnely, made the claim "rocks are alive" during one of his introductory courses.

I am not here to defend his claims, only sharing them as they suggest a respected academic professional with views so far and away from the consensus, that it makes us laugh. The ridiculous have a place in society, no matter how you fight accepting them. It is they who are, in fact, ridiculing you and your rigid thinking with statements like his. In other words, he was a Trickster; a character both archetypal and culturally universal.
